Noon. to 4:30 p.m., Archaeologists and primitive technologists from throughout the region demonstrate and discuss a variety of primitive skills that local Native Americans and indigenous people from throughout the world practiced in prehistoric times. Stone tool making, fire building, edible and useful plants, primitive weapon construction, atlatl throwing, and more included.

Centennial Award Ceremony, Washington Crossing Historic Park (PA)

The public is invited to help Washington Crossing Historic Park (PA) continue celebrating its 100th anniversary with a Centennial Award Ceremony on Saturday, October 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the park’s Visitor Center (1112 River Road, Washington Crossing, PA). The evening fundraiser will begin with a cocktail hour and hors d’oeuvres followed by the presentation of awards. The Ann Hawkes Hutton Park Champion Award, the Ambassador Award, and the Patriot Award will be presented to several individuals who have played integral roles in the operation and development of the park over the years.

These honors are named after Bucks County author and playwright Ann Hawkes Hutton, who founded the Board of the Washington Crossing Foundation, was appointed by the governor to chair the Washington Crossing Park Commission, and wrote George Washington Crossed Here. A lifelong resident of the area, she passed away in 2003. Tickets are $100 per person and may be purchased by calling the park at 215-493-4076. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and an open bar are included.
