Share Our Strength Presents Children's Book Fair
On Saturday, February 8th from 11 to 2, the Princeton area Share Our Strength (SOS) will present its second children's book fair. The book fair will be held at the Suzanne Patterson Center at Route 206 and Nassau Street in Princeton (directly behind Princeton Boro Hall). Children's favorite books will be available for sale. Children can participate in storytelling, crafts, and face painting. At 12:30, there will be a special musical performance by singer/songwriter Macheis Wind performing his new releases including "Doughy the Pancake Man." Admission is free. 100% of the event's profits will be donated to the Wilson Neighborhood Center of Mercer County. The center provides a Head Start program, tutoring, mentoring and a summer camp for children from low-income families.
Share Our Strength is a nationwide network of volunteers who raise money to fight hunger and its causes. Other events presented in our area by SOS include "Writer's Harvest", a reading event held in November at Encore Books and Music which featured readings by Joyce Carol Oats, and "Taste of the Nation", a gourmet food and wine tasting event held in May at the Forsgate Country Club. Since its inception in 1991, the Princeton area SOS group has raised more than $250,000 to fight hunger in Mercer County. For information about any SOS event, call 609-924- FOOD (3663).
