Youth Orchestra Welcomes World Renowned Musician

The Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey (YOCJ), a non- profit organization that gives young talented musicians the opportunity to play at a professional level, will be welcoming award winning Concertmaster David Kim to their winter concert on January 23, 2011, at 7: 00 P.M. at West Windsor Plainsboro High School North.

Violinist David Kim has been the Concertmaster for the Philadelphia Orchestra for over 10 years and has travelled all over the world in order to teach and perform.  He will be joining YOCJ in a once in a lifetime concert where youth meets experience in a blend of symphonic excellence.

Founded in 1978, YOCJ is a non profit that brings together approximately 200 gifted instrumentalists between the ages of 9 and 18 from the New Jersey and Pennsylvania area.  Their mission is to provide opportunities for talented young musicians to participate in musical performance at a level beyond that which is traditionally offered by school bands and orchestras.

YOCJ will be holding open auditions for new students on January 25, 2011.  All instruments are welcome to audition.  Please register in advance.

To learn more about YOCJ or to register for an audition, please send an email to contactyocj@comcast.net or visit their website at www.yocj.org.
