Eastern State Penitentiary was one of the most famous and expensive prisons in the world, but stands today in ruin, a haunting world of crumbling cellblocks and empty guard towers.
We have obtained before-hours private access to restricted areas such as Soup Alley, the Operating Room, the Ruins of Death Row and other off-limits areas.
During the day, we'll discuss composition, camera settings and how to shoot in various lighting situations. Your instructor will be with you every step of the way to look at your work and answer questions. Together, we will explore this fantastic ruin while we put into practice the rules of composition to create memorable images.

The monthly meeting of the Princeton Chapter of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby will take place on Saturday, May 13th, from 12:30 to 2:30 in Princeton. If planning to attend, please email Callie Hancock at climatecallie@gmail.com for the location.

Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization dedicated to deterring climate change through putting a price on carbon and returning the funds to all U.S. households. All are welcome to attend CCL meetings, where actions to support national political action on climate are suggested. The May guest speaker (via videoconference) will be Dr. Natasha DeJarnett, policy analyst in the American Public Health Association’s Center for Public Health Policy. Dr. DeJarnett’s specialty areas include climate change and environmental exposures to pollution.

This group meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month, and future meetings (beginning June 10th) will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton, at 50 Cherry Hill Road, at 12:30. CCL’s website is www.citizensclimatelobby.org.

D&R Greenway Land Trust invites children and families to a special program, Exploring Birds and Nature with Author Kim Kurki, Saturday, May 13, 1-3 pm, at the barn at St. Michaels Farm Preserve, Hopewell. National Wildlife Federation's "World of Birds" author and illustrator Kim Kurki will present an interactive program showing how nature is full of treasures to be discovered, especially birds that can be seen and heard. She will share her collection of natural artifacts, such as nests, eggs, feathers and surprises. There will be a fun craft activity and a hike around the preserve, where 85 species of birds have been counted.
