Birding Field Trip, Washington Crossing Audubon Society

Join Washington Crossing Audubon Society at 8 AM on Saturday, April 29 for a free birding trip led by Brad Merritt, Mary Leck, Andrew Bobe and John Maret at Roebling Park, a Mercer County Park adjacent to the Abbott Marshlands in Trenton. We will see how the marsh and its wildlife adjust to the cold weather. Directions: Coming from Trenton on South Broad St., turn right onto Sewell Avenue at traffic light; at road's end, turn left and continue downhill to parking lot.

9:30 a.m..  Meet at D & R Greenway Land Trust, Johnson Education Center, One Preservation Place (off Rosedale Road), Princeton.

Come join our local walk to support the environment and proactive efforts to fight climate change. April 29th is also the day of the People's Climate March in Washington, D.C. The two-mile, family-friendly walk will begin at D & R Greenway, One Preservation Place, and culminate with a ceremony at Hinds Plaza in downtown Princeton.  Wear green and bring signs with positive messages.

Researching your roots: How to Begin your Family Genealogy

Learn the basics of how to research your family history with a genealogy workshop at The Hunterdon County Historical Society on Saturday, April 29 from 11:00- 12:30 pm.   The workshop will be held at the Society’s headquarters and library located at 114 Main Street in Flemington.

Conducted by Jacquelyn Oshman, reference librarian at the New Brunswick Public Library, the workshop will explore the basics of genealogy research including data bases available on-line, as well as other resources and collections to assist in tracing your family tree.

 The workshop is free for members of the Historical Society with a $5.00 program fee for non- members. Registration is required as space is limited.  Participants may register by calling or e-mailing the Hunterdon County Historical Society @ info@hunterdonhistory.org or 908-782-1091.
