Monthly Meeting, The Women's College Club of Princeton
"The Grover Clevelands- Princeton's OTHER Presidential Couple"
The monthly meeting of The Women's College Club of Princeton will be held Monday, February 20 at 1PM at All Saints' Episcopal Church, Terhune Road, Princeton. The Reverend David Mulford will speak about the life and presidency of Grover Cleveland. Mr. Mulford will explore the ties both Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland formed with Princeton. Grover Cleveland was born in New Jersey but rose to political power in New York. When he concluded his second term as President in1897, he and Mrs. Cleveland retired to Princeton where he was active in University and Community affairs until his death eleven years later. His widow continued to live in Princeton until her death in1947. They are referred to as a "couple" even though Mrs. Cleveland lived many years after her husband's death and was an important part of this community.
This meeting is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. For further information visit www.wccpnj.org.
