Tree Planting, Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association

Saturday April 8, 2017

We are starting our Earth Day early at the Watershed Reserve by planting 900 trees.

Bring gloves, water, and friends! We will be meeting at the Watershed Center and working nearby in a fenced off nursery plot until these seedlings are mature enough to transplant. Come whenever you can and stay as long as you'd like!

Some of these trees will be going to our River-Friendly School participants to enhance pond buffers, revitalize degraded ecosystems, and soak up water in rain gardens.

Let us know you're interested in joining us or would like more information- contact Brittany at bmusolino@thewatershed.org

The Magic and History of Marquand Park

Saturday April 8, 2017
11:00 AM

In 1953, the Marquand family donated 17 acres of their estate, Guernsey Hall, to the municipality of Princeton to serve as an arboretum and passive recreation park. Once part of a 30-acre farm owned by Judge Richard Stockton Field, Marquand Park is home to more than 140 different tree specimens, some dating back over 170 years!

Join Bob Wells, Associate Director of Arboriculture at Morris Arboretum, and Roland Machold, former Marquand Park Foundation board member, as they share the history of the property and highlight the native and exotic trees in the collection.

Free, but registration is required, as space is limited. Register online at www.princetonhistory.org

Starts at Marquand Park parking lot, Lover's Lane between Stockton and Mercer Streets
