Join Washington Crossing Audubon Society from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 6 for a guided walk led by Brad Merritt and Sharyn Magee to observe spring songbird migrants at Garret Mountain Reservation, a Passaic County Park located just south of Paterson, NJ. We may also visit the adjacent Rifle Camp Park. Bring a lunch.

Directions: Take I-287 to I-80. Go east to exit 56A (Squirrelwood Road). Go to the stop sign and turn right on Rifle Camp Road. Go up the hill about 0.5 miles to Mountain Ave., which comes in from the left. Turn left on Mountain Ave. (look for an army tank and the reservoir on the left) and go 0.3 miles to the entrance to Garret Mountain Reservation. The sale will feature Rutgers Master Gardener homegrown perennials and a garden market of plant material sold by selected top-notch nurseries from New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Scholars and leaders from four major faith traditions will participate in a panel titled, "Caring for our Common Home:  An Interfaith Conversation on the Environment," presented on Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Hopewell United Methodist Church.

Representing Christian, Jewish, Hindu and Muslim faiths, the panelists will discuss how their faith approaches environmental issues and how we all need to respond to degradation of the Earth, because caring for the Earth is a common principle honored among many faith traditions.

The event is part of the church's theme for April and May – Caring for our Common Home. The panel is free and open to all. There will be light refreshments served.
