In recognition of Black History Month, Lawrence High School is hosting a celebration entitled, “Black History: Glancing at the Past, Moving Toward the Future.” The celebration will take place on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 6 – 8PM. This event is grant funded by the Lawrence Township Education Association.  The celebration will boast an array of moving performances and tributes by LHS students, faculty, and special guests. Upon arrival attendees can expect to be greeted with festive music and refreshments, as they take a pictorial journey through African-American History.

This celebration is a FREE event and is open to all who wish to attend! Donations will be graciously accepted!

Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes and the Mercer County Park Commission are excited to welcome Kat Wright and the Indomitable Soul Band with Danielia Cotton to the Mercer Oaks Clubhouse on Friday, Feb. 24. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the music will start at 7.

Danielia Cotton will start the evening off with her eclectic mix of soulful rock that will have people swaying along to the rhythm, followed by the dynamic and sultry voice of Kat Wright. With the harmonious unity of the bass, horns, drums, piano and guitar of the Indomitable Soul Band, the Mercer Oaks ballroom will be filled with a soulful, romantic vibe.

‘Boeing, Boeing’ at MCCC’s Kelsey Theatre

It’s the 1960s, and Bernard, a high-flying pilot, is also a swinging single who is juggling three gorgeous stewardesses. M&M Stage Productions presents the classic French farce “Boeing, Boeing” at Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC’s) Kelsey Theatre Fridays, Feb. 17 and 24 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Feb. 18 and 25 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, Feb. 19 and 26 at 2 p.m.

Kelsey Theatre is located on the college’s West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors, and $14 for students. (This show is not recommended for children.)  Tickets are available at www.kelseytheatre.net or by calling the Kelsey Theatre Box Office at 609-570-3333. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible, with free parking available next to the theater.
