The Pennington School is an independent, coeducational school for students in grades 6 through 12, with both day and boarding programs. There are 510 students who represent 30 countries. The challenging curriculum is college preparatory, with a strong emphasis on fostering the development of the whole student through academics, athletics, community service, and the creative and performing arts. Pennington offers two new, two-year special certificate programs in Global Studies and Applied Science. There are also small programs for international students and for bright students with language-based learning differences. At Pennington, teachers believe that the real purpose of education is not to fill students with information but to enable them to think. Faculty members focus not only on what they can teach the students, but also on what the varied perspectives of the student body may contribute to the entire educational experience.
