Januweary – My mother loves this expression. I anticipate her saying it every January and there it was today. It’s true, I start of the year with all kinds of excitement and adrenaline for new projects. I make lists, I complete a few organizational things, I consider budgets, and make plans and then thump. I hit a wall and even the most simple of projects becomes Mt. Everest.
But Mount Everest has to be planned and climbed in stages. Do you have an idea for your home? Does it seem too overwhelming to even plan? What seems the most overwhelming part? What kinds of projects seem the most overwhelming? A suggestion: Start somewhere.
Maybe the first stage of starting is clearing, cleaning and organizing a space you would like to renovate. Engage an expert organizer to help clear so you can envision the room as a functioning office, kitchen or bath. See the space for all it can be. Clean out the cabinets get rid of the unwanted accumulation. This will make the eventual renovation easier. It’s a first step and often the most difficult. Get a color or design consolation the get the ideas flowing and the plan started.
Stuck inside with that Januweary feeling?
