Princeton – Congratulations to the Princeton Day School Model United Nations Team, who once again wowed the competition at the Washington Area Model United Nations Conference hosted by George Washington University this past weekend by winning the top award at the conference: Best Large Delegation.
This conference included teams from 68 high schools from the mainland United States, Puerto Rico, and South Africa. Faculty Advisor and history teacher Eamon Downey reported, “From Thursday through Sunday this past week, our Model UN team competed on the largest stage yet this year … and the Panthers emerged with the top award of the entire conference, winning the plaque for Best Large Delegation.”
Ziad Ahmed '17, Secretary General of the team, noted, “This is a massive achievement, and we bested five schools listed in the top 25 schools in America to win this title. This makes us one of the best schools at Model UN in the world, and we won 17 out of a 23 possible awards to make this happen.” He went on to say, “We competed against nearly 70 schools tirelessly for four days at this highly competitive conference, and emerged victorious.”
