Expands Successful Fundraiser into Pennsylvania
Turning Point Restaurants today announced that it raised $56,000 for The Kortney Rose Foundation (KRF) at its annual “Great Food for a Great Cause” event held on February 25 & 26, 2017, bringing the annual fundraiser’s cumulative total to nearly $260,000 in donations. Last weekend’s event marked its entry into Pennsylvania, expanding awareness of KRF’s mission to raise money for pediatric brain tumor research.
Restaurant patrons who donated to KRF received Turning Point gift cards that can be used at all 13 of its locations. The money raised directly benefits the Children’s Brain Tumor Tissue Consortium (CBTTC), a multi-institutional collaborative entity of 15 hospitals working together on pediatric brain tumor research at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). To date, KRF has donated nearly $1.5M in memory of their daughter Kortney, who died from a brain tumor in 2006.
